Effective August 27, 2026. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Carolina Tech Founders ("Carolina Tech Founders," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to carolinatechfounders.com and to our community programs, events, and communications. Membership is free.
Information you give us. When you join the community, apply to the Founders' Forum, contact us, or express interest in partnering or sponsoring, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, company name and website, role, company size and revenue range, city, membership status, and any message you send us.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider may log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, to keep the site secure and running. We use only the minimal cookies needed for the site to function, and we may use privacy-conscious analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
If you provide your phone number and opt in, we may send SMS text messages about events and updates. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and reply HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of membership. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their own marketing.
We use an email service provider (currently Mailchimp) to send community emails. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only in these limited ways:
We keep your information for as long as you are part of the community or as needed for the purposes described here, then delete or de-identify it, unless a longer period is required by law.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, opt out of texts by replying STOP, and ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, use our contact form. We will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access to or deletion of it, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. The categories of personal information we may collect are identifiers (such as name, email, and phone), professional information (such as company and role), and internet activity (basic site usage). To exercise these rights, use our contact form.
If you are in the EU or UK, we process your personal data based on your consent (for example, to send you emails and texts) and our legitimate interest in running the community. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, use our contact form.
Our community and website are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it was last updated, and material changes will be posted on this page.
